Aadatein bhi ajeeb hoti hain...
Saans lena bhi kaisi aadat hain
Jeeya jaana bhi kya rawayaat hain
Koi aahat nahi badan mein kahin
Koi saaya nahi hain aankhon mein
Paaon be-his hain chalte jaate hain
Ik safar hain jo behta rehta hain
Kitne barsoon se kitni sadiyon se
Saans lete hain jeete rehte hain
AADATEIN BHI AJEEB HOTI HAIN!!!
Sometimes I wonder when you are with someone for a long long time, does loving that person become more of a habit? A habit so firmly entrenched in the psyche that we don't often realise it. Just like breathing. How often do we consciously think about the fact that we are breathing?

Triumph of the indomitable human spirit
I thought that I have given too much importance to my own mean self. So here's a story that would definitely bright up anyone's day and confirm the infallibility of the human spirit:

Memories haunt
You know, today when I was coming to office and I took the cute red toy train I was constantly reminded of you. We had taken the same route the past couple of weeks to avoid the office rush and to delay our journey a bit longer. We used to search for a lonely seat to sit beside each other. Your legs used to touch my legs. I used to wallow in the warmth of your presence. The smell of your perfume used to intoxicate me. I had this burning desire to take you in my arms and just hold you tight.
And then when I was coming via the shopping place, the various cafes were beckoning me. They were as if mocking my lone solitary self. I stared forlonely at the empty tables in that one particular cafe shop where we had our last coffee. Is you warmth still lingering on those seats? Is your smell still wading in the air.
And now, that you are no longer with me, these memories keep on haunting me. They maul me, bite me. As I walk drudgingly towards the office lift, no one notices the trail of blood I leave behind.
I miss you, me-amour!

Love and retribution
Life's changed a lot in the past couple of months. First, there was the pain of unrequited love. Then there was the ecstacy of reciprocated love shrouded in the guilt of unfaithfulness and betrayal. And now that the initial euphoria has led to its nemesis, I am standing again at the crossroads of life staring ahead at the two roads that lie in front of me. On one hand is the person who loves me a lot; who has dedicated her whole life just to make my life a little bit more comfortable every day. The person who stood by me through thick and thin. The person who wouldn't let a single day pass without yelling at me and then making sure that everything I need is just quite right. On the other hand is the person I love to spend time with; who makes me feel young all over again; the person who has bewitched me with her grace and beauty; with her frivolity and her intense passion.
I don't know whether I am entitled to love someone whom I cannot have. Apparently that's what is considered anathema in society. Why is love so cruel? How can I forget those big dreamy eyes staring at me, the excitement when our hands touch, the mindless banter...
I can never stop loving you, but maybe I can stop myself from expressing that. I wish you well, me-amour!
Why do I have to make a choice? Whichever path I take, I stand to lose.

Gave it all away
I know, I know. You would say that I am rather old to be getting all excited about cheesy music. But I have to admit, rather sheepishly, that I am all hooked to Boyzone's new single: Gave it all away.
